About

Adam Perkins

Adam is the framer at Fisher Frames. A graduate of Ithaca College with a degree in Photography and a former woodworker at Jonah Frameworks in Pennsylvania, he understands both the sweat and energy that goes into art and the quality of work that needs to go into the frame that showcases it.

His philosophy on frame-making is that the frame should lend to and enhance the energy of the work. If it is a landscape, the frame is the entryway to the scene. If there is a story to be told, the frame can lengthen its space and time.

In all cases, though, Fisher Frames lets the wood remain wood. Paint is never used. Instead, Adam hand selects every board and molds every profile to make a custom frame for every individual piece.

In short, the beauty of the frame lays in the beauty of the wood.

Adam is also an avid Jazz listener. He believes when jazz meets the hum of a saw, poetry is created.
